About the University Archives and Special Collections

Northwestern Health Sciences University, founded as Northwestern College of Chiropractic in 1941, specializes in integrative and natural health sciences. Our Archives and Special Collections primarily house historical documents, photographs, videos of chiropractic courses and lectures, and items showcasing the college’s history, growth, and notable figures. Additionally, the collection includes historical documents related to the Minnesota School of Chinese Medicine, donated by its founder, Edith Davis.

Digital Collections

This digital collection includes a variety of items that tell the story of the university’s rich history and importance in the field of complementary and alternative medicine.

Exhibits Archive

The Exhibits Archive features a variety of historical items related to the university, including diagnostic tools used in chiropractic practice, wooden chiropractic adjustment tables, portraits of former University Presidents, and various plaques and awards received by University members. It also showcases bronze busts of Dr. John B. Wolfe, Sr., Dr. J. Lamoine De Rusha, and Dr. Bill Harris, along with other artifacts reflecting the university's rich history.
